Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 12 months of permanent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required License: Must have a permanent Ohio license or compact license in hand Certifications: BLS & ACLS required, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is required to qualify for submission. Description: The position requires a registered nurse to provide coverage for the winter season. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 months of experience in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry specialty. Active certifications in BLS and ACLS are required, with NIHSS preferred. References must come from a supervisory level and must be recent, from assignments worked in the past 12 months. All required certifications need to be active at the time of submission. Travelers will be assessed on ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication handling during the orientation period. Background checks will be reviewed and any open cases will disqualify the candidate. Candidates with non-compliance on required modules or competencies may be removed from the schedule. Candidates must be nicotine-free, except for exempt personnel. The need for hands-on competency training is emphasized for those on continuous contracts. Modules may vary in time and applicability, and the nursing education department requires completion of specific educational modules annually.
